INTRO
I have been making art since the age of three, and I have been meditating for almost just as long. Of course, I had no idea it was called meditation, until a few years ago. As a small child, I called it "going back" or "going inside". Midstream, in play, I would pause reality and voluntarily go to a place within my mind. I am going through this same process twenty years later, now with clear direction. I feel I get high off meditation. I want to be in that state all the time and I hate being sober.
This is what I choose to make artwork about: the bliss of meditation and the struggles that surround it. I want to make my paintings come to life with video. I want to show patterns and events that grow and intensify-- and nothing ever happens (unless the viewer decides). Or maybe instead of showing the climax, jump to something anti-climatic. Anyway, I am very excited about this class; I am getting some wonderful feedback already from classmates and the professor.
Cheers.
